Vintage Bedroom Suite— Twin Sleigh Bed

By Faye Caroline
  December 14, 2023

There’s something undeniably graceful about a sleigh bed—the flowing curves, the timeless silhouette, and the sense of comfort it brings to any space. When I discovered this vintage twin sleigh bed as the final piece in the same Knechtel Furniture suite as the stacked dresser and vanity, I knew it needed a bold yet elegant finish to tie the entire set together. Olive Martini, my custom deep khaki green, was the perfect choice to highlight its classic design. This easy-to-love color adds warmth and depth, effortlessly complementing neutrals, terracotta, and antique brass for a look that feels both fresh and timeless.

Vintage Sleigh Bed

This vintage Knechtel Furniture bedroom suite showcases timeless craftsmanship. This twin sleigh bed, with its classic curves and solid frame, is the final piece in the set I’ve been transforming this Nov/Dec. With the stacked dresser and vanity dresser complete, this bed completes the suite, ready to bring character to any space.

It’s time for an Olive Martini! I’m celebrating my completion of transforming a 3-piece vintage bedroom suite for YOU! This twin bed with head & foot boards with rails is the third and final piece with my transformation. All 3 pieces were reincarnated in my very own custom colour blend I’ve named Olive Martini— an easy to love natural deep khaki green that pairs ever so sweetly with neutrals, terracotta, and antique brass. Quite the perfect colour for this suite if I do say so myself! A super solid n’ sound Knechtel Furniture twin bed— with a matching stacked dresser and vanity dresser. Ready and waiting for your guest room, cottage bunk room, or child’s bedroom!

UPDATE JULY 2024: While this twin sleigh bed didn’t make its way into Sweet Caroline, it remains a standout piece from the suite. Its timeless design and Olive Martini finish continue to reflect the vintage charm and thoughtful transformation that inspired this entire project. • Lightly sanded down giving extra attention to edges— For a farmhouse distressed finish; with 220, 80 grit
